Today, Thursday, April 15, we have celebrated in our School the solidarity race “SEK runs for the smile of a child.” To participate in this event, the students have bought a solidarity number with a symbolic price of 5 euros.
This action will be aimed at the renovation of the 10 nursery schools – paillotes- that PSE has in Cambodia and in which more than 600 children between 2 and 8 years old are educated.
The race has been carried out in different spaces of the school and with different schedules for each educational course, thus complying with all the necessary measures to carry out the event safely.
The SEK Educational Institution and the NGO Por la Sonrisa de un Niño (PSE) established in 2018 a collaboration agreement for the development of solidarity actions that will benefit our students and, of course, the children that PSE cares for in Cambodia.
Since 1995, Por la Sonrisa de un Niño has been working to remove from the garbage dumps and the streets of Cambodia extremely vulnerable children with the aim of feeding them, educating them and helping them find a decent job in Cambodian society. PSE’s work started with 30 children and today it educates more than 6,700 young people, in academic school and professional training programs, with educational continuity throughout the summer.
Every day PSE offers more than 10,000 meals, and about 300 children are cared for in the medical center with their families. Currently more than 3,000 young people, educated by PSE in the values of honesty, effort, responsibility and autonomy, are already working and being agents of change for the future of their country.
