How the world works

Students in 1st grade of Primary Education develop their inquiry unit “How the World Works” of the IB Program for Primary Education (PYP), this time learning about the water cycle, relating weather conditions to human behavior.

Through their investigations, students establish connections that will serve them to be lifelong learners, inquirers and good communicators. The PYP program prepares students Later in this unit they will present the weather forecast as a performance task, connecting concepts related to the subjects of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Spanish Language and Literature and English.

Od the IB, aimed at students aged 3 to 12, enables them to train and develop to express their opinions, make choices and take responsibility for their own learning The PYP offers a transdisciplinary and inquiry-based curricular framework that develops understanding conceptual.

It is a student-centered educational approach for children between the ages of 3 and 12. The PYP draws from the best educational research, experiences and thought leadership in education from IB World Schools.

By learning through inquiry and reflecting on their learning, students in the PEPs develop the knowledge, conceptual understanding, skills and attributes of the IB learner profile necessary to make a difference in their own lives, in their communities and in the world at large.
