Last May 30, the First Online Chess Tournament for Primary Education students was held in our school and has been held as a continuation of those that are usually held annually in our center. With this championship, students have had the opportunity to develop their skills in this discipline that is part of their curriculum and that contributes to their intellectual development.
In this first edition, 45 students from 1st to 3rd of Primary Education have participated under the game system Swiss of four rounds of 10 minutes duration. Juan Sánchez Rivera, Pedro Miguel González and Ariana Ratán were in the first three places of this exciting tournament that has been a very gratifying experience for all.
With the practice of chess, our students develop the skills necessary for the application of strategies, analyze, anticipate and make decisions under pressure and also increases the capacity for attention and concentration and critical thinking.
